What is Heat set in textile language ?
It
is a heat treatment process by which crease resistance, shape, elasticity, gsm
control and other parameter of fabrics are imparted. And bring change in
strength, expansion quality, softness, dye-ability etc. this process is depend
on the thickness and type of the fabrics.
Why heat set to textile knitting fabrics?
1.
Because
it gives excellent diamensional stability and very good crease proof properties.
2.
Blended
fabrics as example - p.c fabrics may shrink or become distorted during wet processing.
Heat setting is reducing this problem.
3.
To get
desire dia and g.s.m from grey fabrics.
4.
To make
suitable for wet processing.
5.
To make
relax or improve fabrics materiality.
6.
Change
in strength, dye ability and sometimes in color.
7.
Yellow
color can be improved due to heat setting etc.
What types of
fabrics are heat-setting
Polyester,
Polyamide, Triacetate, Acrylic, Elastomer,
Nylon is heat setted. Basically heat set is done for Lycra fabrics in knitting.
How much temperature
are used in Heat setting process ?
Theoretically we are
use use-able temperature during heat
setting process. Although all are depend on fabrics structure, g.s.m, yarn count
and elastomar count, type of color, enzyme etc. Nearly ratio are given below.
Some influence factors of heat set:
Enzyme
amount: heat set is done knowing that, what is amount of enzyme in fabrics. As
example: 1% or 2% or 3% enzyme etc.
Spandex
quantity in fabrics: heat set is done depend on what is the amount of spandex
in fabrics. Example: full feeder lycra or half feeder lycra.
Shade:
sometimes it is depend on color shade quantity. Example: for deep shade after
heat set g.s.m will be increase in fabrics.
Textile basic knowledge of some parameters of heat setting:
Time and
Temperature, Speed, Overfeed, Tension or feed roller, Blower, padder pressure are considerable factors.
